Okay friends, it is true we are in a recession. This is not the time to crawl up in a ball and suck on your big thumb and hybernate. As tempting as that sounds, now is the time to take action, and take advantage of your many gifts.

What gifts? Your inherent ingenuity, your God-given creativity, and your natural survival instincts. You have them all, so round them up and get in the game. Yes, there are some points that you are aware of if you listen to the news. And staying on top of world events is important...to a degree. Just don't forget, the law of Quantum Physics and the law of attraction: what you focus on will persist.

Okay, so let's get it out of the way. What is a recession? And are we really in one? And what does that me to me? These are the facts of the current 2009 recession in the good ole USA and beyond...

Our country is in an economic bind.  The unemployment rate has gone up and GDP is down.  We are currently in what economists call a recession or a general slow down of economic activity.  This current recession is said to continue throughout the rest of the year, and has most of us worried about job security, mortgage payments, bills and other daily quandaries.

Why did I have to lose my job? Why did the value of my home plummet? Why can't I afford to go out to a nice restaurant anymore Why can't I afford to buy a new pair of shoes? Why can't I afford to send my kids to a better school?

Of course it is only natural to ask these questions. But the truth is questions like this promote a victim mentality, and if you continue to ask these kind of questions to the Universe, guess what the Universe is going to continue to give you. You guessed right if you said more victim-like circumstances.

I personally know what it feels like to lose a job, take care of a family and wonder what I should do.  I felt lost, alone and depressed.  But losing one’s job is certainly not the end of the world.  What it really is...is an opportunity.

Chances are the job you lost you were not that fond of anyway. Let's be honest. You look at your job as security and a way to pay the bills. But when you never know when you are going to be delivered a pink slip - where's the security.

I have found that there are two keys to successfully fight your way up when you’re down.  One of them is hard work and the other one is creativity.  It doesn’t mean to say that since our country is in a financial bind that the cycle of producing and consuming stops. 

It continues 24/7, an unending perpetual cycle.  This cycle is fueled by our needs and wants.  We need to eat, we need electricity and water, we need gasoline, we want some fries to go with that shake.  So even if the economy is on slow mode, all of us need something in order to live and survive.

We have all gone through dark or tough periods during our lives.  Problems are a fact of human existence.  Who hasn’t had a single problem? There are times when life can be so harsh and we want to give up and throw in the towel.  But I have always found that no problem however big is insurmountable if you are willing to work hard.  Problems test your character.  Are you a quitter or are you a doer?  The answer to this question is most often answered when times are hard and these times manifest the true color of an individual. 

So, what do we do when the economy is down and thousands are losing their jobs and homes? We don’t give up! Find a way, think positive, work hard, never lose hope and be creative.   One of the answers is staring you right in the face.  The internet is a magnificent tool that reaches billions across the globe with just a single click of the mouse.  The market isn’t just some place we walk to; it has become something we can log on to.  Think outside the box. 

The world is becoming a digital, global market full of opportunities and wonderful ideas.  The new beginning is just a Google search away. Hard work plus creativity equalsopportunity. The opportunity of making your recession worries go away by finding means to take care of your needs via the internet.  Now that the country is in recession, don’t let it get you down, see it as an opportunity to spread your wings and try something new.
