Pay Per Click Programs
What's New...

Anyone hear about any new pay per click programs? It just so happens, we have. This is Kim, (Mark's better half) to fill you in one of coolest ways to advertise your product or service that has popped since the inception of Google Adwords (not to be confused with Google Adsense).

For those of you not familiar with pay per click (ppc) , ppc is paid advertising (you pay Google) to place an ad on the Google page. The idea is that you use specific keywords in your ad that you think your customer will type into the Google search bar. And when they do, your ad will be prominently displayed, and your customer (noticing your ad is exactly what they are looking for) will click on your ad.

Word of Warning

This is one of those advertising techniques that is not for the faint of heart. In other words, it can cost considerable bucks if you do not know what you are doing. Pay per click programs can be a form of affordable online marketing, just be careful. Read this page, and if you have any questions you can Contact us and we can help you out. You might also want to consider our coaching services if you have more than one or two specific questions.

Back to the Basics

For the most part, these ads appear on the right side of the Google page, although sometimes they occupy the first three spots on the left (organic) side. You will know they are ppc ads because the background will be slightly darker and you will see text in the upper right corner which reads "Sponsored Link. "

Mark and I generally steer away from advertising with pay per click. Although, we have used them with some success for our Fireflies product, A Zen Gift store, and our marketing firm, Avenstar. We are very familiar with the pay per click programs and know how to write effective ads, but we have found that writing effective, keyword-rich copy can be just as effective without the high cost.

Pay per click programs and campaigns can be effective if you are selling a niche product and it is just you and one or two competitors in the top spots. Having corresponding ads on the right and left left side of the page gives the web surfer the feeling that you have the edge, so you are the expert.

We had an experience with our Zen Fireflies in this way. We noticed when we used the per per click programs our sales would be about double what we paid for the ad. Definitely a worthwhile investment.

AdWords For Dummies

If you are considering pay per click, now is really a great time to look into the pay per click programs that Google offers. We just found out about a new program (one of those customized marketing solutions that deserves some serious attention)from our friend Howie Jacobson, author of AdWords for Dummies. Before I get into the new pay per click programs, I have to let you know about Howie's amazing book.

We make no money on the sales of his book, but promote AdWords for Dummies, simply because it is the most informative book about pay per click anywhere - and he writes with such a great sense of humor, that it is incredibly entertaining as well. Don't believe me? Just go to Amazon, and look up his book, and check out the numerous 5 star reviews.

Back to Pay Per Click Programs...

So, Howie let us in on what Google has been up to do - the latest scoop in pay per click programs - and we know you will like this. This latest and greatest from Google is a way to create an image ad as part of your pay per click campaign, without even having any web design experience.

Howie Jacobson, of our favorite ppc book, AdWords for Dummies, has just created an informative video about one of the latest of Google's innovative pay per click programs - How to Create an Image Display Ad (especially for the creatively challenged).

One of the first rules of marketing is to test. Then test some more, and then do a little more testing. Every service or product produces different results with different forms of advertising.

So take a moment and enjoy what the expert author of AdWords for Dummies has prepared just for the online business owner seeking tons of targeted traffic.

This is the exclusive email Howie sent out...

If you ever wanted to run image ads on the content network (that is, ads made up of pictures rather than plain text), you needed to engage the services of a graphic designer. And if you wanted to test different versions of an image ad, you probably ended up spending hundreds or thousands of bucks on graphic design.

Those days are over, my friend (gee, who am I channeling?). Google has just released a "Display Ad Creator" that, allegedly, allows even graphically impaired advertisers like me to create beautiful and effective image ads.

Will I be able to hack it? Will you? Watch this 5-minute video tutorial:
