It's true YouTube has the garnered the most attention, but the truth is the more you capitalize on these other really great options the greater chances of your site's success.

YouTube has the lion’s share of the market today when comes to video sharing websites. Of course there are other sites out there. According to a list compiled by ReelSEO there are 338 sites on the internet that offer video sharing as a service.

The popularity of video sharing has continued to rise today as more and more people visit video sharing sites. The continuing increase in the patronage of these sites can be attributed to the wider availability of broadband services and the more varied content of sites like YouTube.

The convenience that the Internet can give to people can be difficult to dispense with once it has become a part of people’s lifestyle. The Internet can provide entertainment, diversion, and education. When people get used to this being a central function in their lives it would be extremely hard to give it up. Instead a pattern of increased reliance on this convenient tool is the result.

Of course, there are multitudes more video sharing sites on the Internet. The popularity of YouTube practically ensures the setting up of other video sharing sites trying to get on the bandwagon.

These Are Some Of My Favorite YouTube Competition Sites:

Blip.Tv -has better audio and video quality than YouTube. 100 MB file size that you can upload. This site has a very good player for embedding videos in websites and blogs.

Brightcove –the feature I like best about brightcove is the revenue split via brightcove network. The player is also of superior quality.

Revver –has the best revenue sharing scheme for its users. A 50:50 split. File upload size is unlimited. The disadvantage is that all videos contain ads.

DivX Stage6 –has a 2GB size file upload. It has very good video and audio quality. It also has a very good embedded player and unlimited user storage.

Veoh –Audio and video quality is excellent. Uploading is easy. Embedded palyer design is also superb.
